BULLETIN ÉLECTRONIQUE DE LA PLATE-FORME SUISSE «VIH/SIDA ET COOPÉRATION INTERNATIONALE»

Chers lecteurs et chères lectrices,

C'est avec ces aidsfocus.nouvelles que je voudrais vous dire au revoir. Une nouvelle période commence pour moi, celui de «l'Age of liberty». C'est une nouvelle phase où j'aurai davantage de loisirs et de temps libre pour réaliser ce qui m'importe et ce que j'estime être bon. Je pars pleine de sentiments mitigés, je suis à la fois heureuse et triste. Onze ans: c'est une longue période pendant laquelle, de concert avec vous, les organisations partenaires et les ami(e)s d'aidsfocus.ch, je me suis engagée pour un futur sans sida. C'est avec plaisir que je pense aux activités communes, aux nombreuses discussions agréables ainsi qu'aux petits et grands succès.

Lors de l'apéro d'adieu avec les partenaires d'aidsfocus.ch et les membres du Réseau Medicus Mundi Suisse, mon collègue Martin Leschhorn a, au moyen des éditoriaux des aidsfocus.nouvelles, réalisé une rétrospective de mes onze années au sein d'aidsfocus.ch. Je fus émue. Les exemples furent si bien choisis, et leur message si important à mes yeux.

Il a débuté avec l'histoire actuelle qui fait notre fierté : la multiplication par deux de la contribution suisse au Fonds mondial de lutte contre le sida, la tuberculose et le paludisme de décembre dernier. C'est un succès auquel aidsfocus.ch a largement participé et qui nous honore. Il commence avec les succès et les temps forts, pensai-je. L'approche axée sur les solutions que j'ai découverte dans le cadre de mon travail relatif au memory work et avec terre des hommes Suisse et que j'ai continué à diffuser, a également trouvé un écho auprès de mes collègues.

Il est certainement vrai que c'est un travail de longue haleine que de s'engager en faveur de la santé pour tous, de la justice et d'un futur sans sida. Ainsi, l'extrait de l'éditorial de l'année dernière est toujours valable. « L'engagement pour un futur sans sida va de plus en plus de pair avec d'autres programmes de santé et de développement. Nous avons toutefois besoin, à l'avenir, d'une attention spéciale sur le sida qui nous a déjà menés si loin. En employant les paroles de Nelson Mandela: «Just as the water is about to boil, it is foolish to turn off the heat.»

Outre les aspects politiques de l'engagement - qu'il faut compléter et amplifier - un autre niveau est constitué par l'approche psychosociale du memory work et la rencontre avec des personnes touchées par le VIH. Je garde fortement le souvenir de l'atelier de 2007 sur le travail de mémoire avec des femmes positives au VIH. Cet atelier avait mis aussi mes émotions à rude épreuve mais j'ai ressenti une telle joie quand une des femmes déclara  «Cela m'a redonné du courage».

Une autre image qui m'inspire est celle de la rencontre avec des femmes positives au VIH au Zimbabwe l'année dernière. Lors d'une rencontre dans un village, je fus frappée par les nombreux bébés sur les genoux de leur maman. En hésitant quelque peu et en abordant un sujet délicat - à mon avis - je demandai si les enfants étaient positifs ou négatifs au VIH. Très spontanément et rayonnantes tout en brandissant en l'air leur enfant: «Nos enfants sont sains». Cette rencontre me donna de l'espoir, du courage et des arguments pour m'engager aussi à l'issue de cette période chez aidsfocus.ch.

Une nouvelle phase commence aussi pour aidsfocus.ch déjà visible dans le nouveau format des aidsfocus.nouvelles et de la nouvelle page web qui a été, en très grande partie, configurée par Martina Staenke. La nouvelle coordinatrice d'aidsfocus.ch est Carine Weiss. Elle apporte une grande expérience dans la coopération pour la santé, notamment en matière de santé sexuelle et reproductive. Il y a beaucoup de nouveautés, mais j'espère que l'élan pour un futur sans sida demeure.

Le lancement du NOUVEAU SITE WEB WWW.AIDSFOCUS.CH est au premier plan de cette newsletter sous la nouvelle direction. Je vous invite cordialement à découvrir et à explorer le nouveau site web.

Vous y trouverez à présent toutes les informations relatives à aidsfocus.ch de la période d'Helena Zweifel. En sa qualité de plate-forme, aidsfocus.ch continuera à l'avenir à vous informer et vous sensibiliser sur le VIH et le sida et à promouvoir l'échange d'informations et d'expériences. L'échange de savoir dans la rubrique «NEWS» repose sur des connaissances et des expériences constamment actualisées entre divers acteurs dans le domaine du VIH et du sida et de la collaboration internationale. En se basant là-dessus, aidsfocus.ch milite - à l'aide de son travail de plaidoyer - pour un accès illimité à la prévention complète du VIH, au traitement, aux soins et au soutien, et ce, pour toutes les personnes concernées. Car, aujourd'hui encore, on estime que 35 millions de personnes sont touchées par le VIH et près de la moitié ignorerait qu'elle est positive au VIH (UNAIDS GAP Report).

Cash transfers plus care halve HIV risk behaviours in South African adolescents

Melbourne, 22 July 2014 - Combining unconditional economic support in the form of government cash transfers, school feeding and food gardens, and psychosocial support (positive parenting and teacher social support) reduced incidence of HIV risk behaviour by around half for both female and male adolescents in South Africa, Dr Lucie Cluver of the University of Oxford told participants at the 20th International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2014) in Melbourne on Monday

Decriminalise sex work to help control Aids pandemic, scientists demand

22 July 2014 - Sex work must be decriminalised if the world is to stand a chance of controlling the Aids pandemic, say scientists contributing to a series of research papers in the Lancet medical journal. Sex workers, whether female, male or transgender, are subject to repression, violence and abuse even at the hands of those who are supposed to uphold the law, according to the series of seven research papers presented at the International Aids Conference in Melbourne, Australia. Fear of the police and other authorities, as well as the abuse itself, prevents sex workers protecting themselves from HIV infection.

Recommandation de l’OMS

L'Organisation mondiale de la Santé (OMS) recommande aux groupes à risque de prendre des médicaments contre le VIH à titre préventif. L’Aide Suisse contre le Sida a pris connaissance du rapport de l’OMS. Nous attirons l’attention sur le fait que le préservatif offre toujours la meilleure protection contre le VIH tout en protégeant bien des autres infections sexuellement transmissibles.

Landmark HIV diagnostic access program will save $150m and help achieve new global goals on HIV

NEW YORK, 25 September 2014 - Roche today announced a major Global Access Program to sharply lower the price of HIV viral load tests in low- and middle-income countries. This new initiative creates a ceiling price of US$ 9.40 per test, and will reduce Roche’s average price by more than 40% in low- and middle-income countries. When fully implemented, the Global Access Program is projected to save more than US$ 150 million in costs over the next five years.

Strictly Beza: Dancing in Ethiopia

Stigma, ambivalence and other priorities – explaining poor adherence to PrEP and vaginal microbicides

For young activists and youth organizations - Making the money work for young people: a participation tool for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria

This tool has been developed in collaboration between the PACT—a global alliance of 25 youth organizations working on HIV—UNAIDS and the Global Fund Secretariat.
