MMS/aidsfocus.ch in the Swiss Delegation to the Global Fond Board
MMS/aidsfocus.ch - Since last year MMS/aidsfocus.ch has been part of the Swiss delegation to the Board of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (the Global Fund). The Swiss are part of the Canadian and Australian constituency. The three countries combined have one voting seat and aim to contribute to and influence Global Fund policies and practices. MMS/aidsfocus.ch’s role is to represent the civil society perspective related to the work of the Global Fund within the Swiss delegation.

There is a renewed push for sexual and reproductive health and rights due to the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 193 UN-member states. Safeguarding sexual and reproductive health and rights of women and men contributes significantly to achieving the Global goals for sustainable development.

Pferderennen gegen HIV
SolidarMed - "Lesotho: Die Basuto-Ponys gelten als «äusserst trittsicher, konditionsstark und gesund». In den Bergen Lesothos sind sie Arbeitsgerät und Stolz der Bauern zugleich. Um junge Männer auf ihre Gesundheit zu testen, organisierte das Gesundheitszentrum im abgelegenen Montmartre mit der Unterstützung von SolidarMed ein Pferderennen.

Europäische Kommission stärkt den Globalen Fonds
Der Globale Fonds - Die Europäische Kommission wird den Globalen Fonds zur Bekämpfung von Aids, Tuberkulose und Malaria in den Jahren 2017 bis 2019 mit 470 Millionen Euro unterstützen. Mark Dybul, der Direktor des Globalen Fonds begrüsst diese um 27% erhöhte Investition in seine Organsation.
