La journée mondiale du sida de 2015 à Bâle– La lutte contre les stigmates
Chères lectrices et chers lecteurs d'aidsfocus,
Comme chaque année depuis 1988, la journée mondiale du sida sera célébrée le 1er décembre pour rappeler toutes les personnes positives au VIH ainsi que commémorer toutes les victimes du sida et pour attirer notre attention sur une maladie qui, de loin, n'a pas pu encore être jugulée. Aujourd'hui encore, plus de 35 millions de personnes vivent avec le VIH et seulement 15 millions ont accès au traitement et aux médicaments.
Le thème de la journée mondiale du sida de cette année est «Getting to Zero» – Zéro nouvelle infection au VIH, zéro discrimination et zéro décès dû au sida.
Actuellement, la stigmatisation et la discrimination font encore partie des obstacles majeurs pour garantir l'accès au traitement du VIH, aux soins et à la prévention pour tous. Les personnes touchées par le VIH doivent se porter garantes de leurs droits pour lutter contre la stigmatisation et la discrimination dans la société. Car sans leur engagement qui consiste à expliquer le VIH à leurs semblables, il va être difficile de réduire les craintes de contact de leur entourage.
C'est précisément ce qu'a effectué avec sa commune Melania Mrema Kyando, une pasteure positive au VIH issue de Tanzanie. Avec beaucoup de courage et d'affection, elle a expliqué le VIH à sa commune et a fondé un groupe d'entraide pour lutter contre la stigmatisation et la discrimination des personnes positives au VIH. Et elle y est parvenue avec beaucoup de succès: de plus en plus de personnes vont faire des tests et sont prêtes à prendre des médicaments.
Le 1erdécembre, Mission 21 vous invite à 18h30 à la première projection du film «JUST LIKE YOU – COMME TOI ET MOI» au Stadtkino de Bâle. Le film relate l'histoire de Melania Mrema Kyando et de son groupe d'entraide en Tanzanie. Après la projection, la pasteure Melania Mrema Kyando (Rungwe/ Tanzanie) et le réalisateur Nicholas Calvin (Dar es Salaam/Tansania) parleront de leur travail et de leur projet de film. Mission 21 vous accompagnera pendant toute cette soirée.

1 decembre 2015 - Diagnostiquer le VIH demeure un stigmate pour les personnes concernées, même en 2015. La peur de la discrimination est grande. Un film tanzanien qui fêtera sa première projection à Bâle le 1er décembre 2015, journée mondiale du sida, montre que cela peut être différent: «Just Like You – Comme toi et moi». Le film fait le portrait d'une pasteure infectée qui, de concert avec un grand groupe d'entraide, rompt le silence collectif d'une société sur le VIH/sida.

La Suisse présidente de l’ONUSIDA
UNAIDS - L’ONUSIDA adopte une nouvelle stratégie pour mettre un terme au sida d’ici 2030. Le conseil de l’ONUSIDA a élu la Suisse à la présidence de cette institution des Nations Unies cruciale pour la lutte contre le sida. Pour le réseau Medicus Mundi Suisse, c’est la conséquence des efforts renforcés de la Suisse en faveur de la santé globale. L’ONUSIDA a en outre adopté une nouvelle stratégie pour mettre fin au sida d’ici 2030.

SDG Series: Are SDGs the Vehicle to End AIDS by 2030? Only if Driven by Human Rights
Health and Human Rights Journal - "SDG 3, the overarching goal on health issues, seeks to ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all at all ages. Target 3.3 is, “By 2030, end the epidemics of AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and neglected tropical diseases and combat hepatitis, water-borne diseases and other communicable diseases”. There are several other goals and targets in the proposed SDGs that are relevant to ending AIDS by 2030; these include goals 1-5, 8, 10, 11, 16 and 17. It is therefore useful to look at the SDGs as whole to assess how they might impact issues of HIV. (by Allan Maleche)

More research on the impact of starting treatment early
aidsmap.com - As HIV Update has previously reported, the results of a groundbreaking study which demonstrated the benefits of starting HIV treatment early were released in the summer. The headline findings are clear and have already led to changes in treatment guidelines. All international guidelines now recommend that treatment is started as soon as people are diagnosed with HIV.
